Week 9 (29/05/23): In this week, I wasn't able to go to class as I was sick. All I did during this week was check the lecture notes given. This week's lecture notes was about Digital Realism.

Digital Surrealism

1) Realism


- Takes subject matters of the ordinary and common world which we call "reality".

2) Surrealism

- A twist on Realism.
- Explores the subconscious mind, with subject matters concentrating on dream-images and often aims to distort the ordinary.

- Surrealism defies logic.
- Surrealists like Salvador Dali promoted free association and dream imagery.

3) Dadaism

- An anti war movement with art works that is satirical and nonsensical in nature.

4) What is digital surrealism?

- Surrealism is a cultural movement focused on type of arts to express about the artist's idea themselves.
- Surrealism is one of the top digital art styles.

How to start surrealism artworks?

- Dream-like scenes and symbolic images
- Unexpected, illogical juxtapositions
- Bizarre assemblages of ordinary objects
- Primitive or child-like designs
